Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Every client's case is different and we evaluate each case on its own merits. However, there are some very common questions that arise when a client initially contacts our office. Below, we have provided answers to some frequently asked questions.

What will this cost?

There is no charge for the initial consultation. We generally handle personal injury cases on a contingent fee basis.

What is a contingent fee?

This means that our fees are paid when we get a settlement for you. We will pay the fees for expenses for cost of things like ordering medical records, or filing fees. When the case is settled, we get a percentage of the settlement and will be reimbursed for any expenses incurred in the preparation of the case.

How long will this take?

In our initial consultation, we will be able to give you a general idea of what to expect and also a rough timeline for your case.

Who do I speak with if I have questions?

Attorney Santangelo is available to answer any questions you have. He can be reached by phone, email or at an in office appointment. We have office locations in Wellesley, MA, Boston, MA and Rehoboth, MA.  We are also available to meet at a location convenient to you.

My workers' compensation case has been denied. What can I do?

We can help represent your interests to the insurance company and get you the benefits you deserve. We do not charge a fee for these cases. If we are successful in winning your claim, the insurance company pays all legal fees and at settlement, the fee is deducted.

Can you help with my Social Security disability appeal?

We can help represent you with the appeal of an initial denial as well as a reconsideration appeal to the Office of Hearings and Appeals.

What do you charge for Social Security cases?

Our fees are paid from retroactive benefits due you if we are successful with your SSI or SSDI claim.  There is a limit to how much an attorney can charge you.  The amount an attorney can charge is 25% of past due benefits but this amount cannot exceed $6,000.00.  We are only compensated if we are successful with your case.
